Is a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist in Nebraska and holds a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech, Language, and Hearing Association.  She works with children and adolescents in a private practice setting and as an independent contractor for a variety of school districts as a speech therapist and reading interventionist. 

Trained with a Master’s Degree in Speech Language Pathology, Sandi has 11 years experience working in a private practice setting. In addition, Sandi has 7 years experience working as a private contractor for the public schools. Sandi is experienced in providing a continuum of speech and language services that include assessing and treating children and adolescents with a variety of communication disorders and reading disabilities.  Understanding the close connection between phonological/language disorders and reading disabilities, Sandi has obtained additional training in a Multisensory Reading approach based on the Lindamood-Bell Program®, Seeing Stars®, and Visualizing and Verbalizing®, as well as additional training in assessing and treating oral motor disorders and tongue thrust therapy.

Sandi works closely with families to help educate them on current Nebraska Department of Education Rule 51 Special Education laws and advocates for appropriate services within the school systems.  She has experience consulting with special and regular education staff to provide intervention strategies, help analyze data, and formulate intervention plans that help to differentiate curriculum to meet students’ individual needs.

Areas of interest include the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with articulation, phonological, oral motor, expressive and receptive language disorders and reading disabilities.
